Getting it Even Competition

The Getting it Even competition aims to raise awareness of women’s participation in politics by encouraging young women to write a 5 minute speech about how they would increase women’s participation in politics and achieve parity of representation.

To enter

Write a 5 minute speech about how you would increase women’s participation in politics and achieve parity of representation. You must provide a transcript of your speech in PDF format and a video of yourself presenting the speech.

Video specifications

If you are not video savy don’t worry you do not need to be a an expert. The video you capture with your smart phone is fine to use, in the right format and resolution. Just record it and then send us the file and remember titles or end credits are not required.

Format: MPG, MPEG, MPEG 4, AVI or MOV
Resolution: 640 x 480 pixels or above
Time: No longer than 5 minutes in length


The competition is open to all South Australian young women aged 18-25 years.


The winner will deliver their speech at an event for young women and women parliamentarians from around Australia at Parliament House in Adelaide on the evening of 8 October 2019.

Fill out the registration form below to enter the comtpetition. You will be asked to upload your transscript of your speech as part of this registration process. Once completed you will recieve notification that your entry has been recieved.

You will also need to send us your video file via Dropbox (max 15MB) or messenger on Facebook:
